This project was created for my typography class with the goal of exploring the history and impact of Helvetica. The main challenge was to design the entire poster using only Helvetica—no additional typefaces or imagery. At first, I felt limited by this constraint, but it quickly became an opportunity to deepen my understanding of how typography alone can drive a design.

With the focus solely on one typeface, I experimented with different weights, sizes, and spacing to establish visual hierarchy, create contrast, and guide the viewer’s eye. I learned how subtle changes in type can communicate structure and emphasis just as powerfully as images or color. By working within these boundaries, I was pushed to think more critically about every design choice, ensuring that each element served a clear purpose.

This project ultimately taught me that limitations can fuel creativity. It helped me become more intentional in how I present content and more confident in using type as a primary visual tool. The experience strengthened my ability to create compelling, functional designs—even with the most minimal elements.
